About Me

For over twenty years, I’ve been deeply curious about the role storytelling plays in how we understand ourselves and our lives.

During the first part of my adult life, I worked in the arts—acting, music, writing, filmmaking, and live storytelling. Across all of these forms, I became fascinated with what makes a story feel true. I’m still a little obsessed with the structure of stories: how movies work, why certain jokes land, and why honesty and vulnerability tend to be the elements that resonate most.

When I entered therapy myself several years ago, my therapist encouraged me to turn that same curiosity inward—to examine the stories I was telling myself about my experiences. That process was at times terrifying, sad, and, occasionally, unexpectedly funny. It helped me become more present, while also allowing me to live with greater clarity and self-compassion.

What emerged from that work was a sustained curiosity, particularly as it relates to mental health and emotional well-being. Over time, that curiosity—and the value I place on vulnerability—became central to my identity as a counselor. Helping people explore their inner lives with honesty, care, and curiosity is work I find deeply meaningful.

My Approach

First and foremost, I am a certified Safe Zone practitioner and am committed to providing affirming, inclusive care to people of all backgrounds and identities.

In my practice, I integrate several therapeutic approaches to create a compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered experience. Two modalities that strongly inform my work are Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) understands the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own perspective, emotions, and protective roles. These parts may include inner critics, wounded parts, or parts that developed to help you cope. In IFS, we work together to help you connect with your core Self—a place of clarity, wisdom, and compassion. By developing a respectful relationship with your inner world, it becomes possible to reduce internal conflict and support lasting change.

Narrative Therapy focuses on the stories we carry about ourselves and how those stories shape our identities and choices. Together, we explore the narratives that influence your life and look for alternative ways of understanding your experiences—stories that better reflect your values, strengths, and hopes for the future. This work often restores a sense of agency and meaning.

By weaving these approaches together, I aim to offer therapy that is thoughtful, grounded, and responsive to your unique experience. My goal is to provide a steady, collaborative space where you can explore your inner world, loosen the grip of limiting patterns, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

I maintain a small, intentional practice in order to offer thoughtful, consistent care. If you’re considering therapy and feel my approach may be a good fit, I welcome you to reach out. We can talk briefly about what you’re looking for and whether working together makes sense.
